SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Yonhap) -- Girl-group Kep1er produced through Mnet audition program “Girl’s Planet 999” has pushed back their debut to January 2022.
“We have postponed releasing Kep1er’s first mini-album ‘FIRST IMPACT’ which was to be dropped on the 14th to next year Jan.3, 6 p.m.,” announced their management agency WakeOne·Swing Entertainment on the 8th,
Earlier, the agency announced pushing back the band’s debut schedule as a staff got tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
The band’s members were immediately tested for the infection and received negative results. There are no additional confirmed cases as well.
“Considering the artist and the staff’s safety as our first priority, we decided to cancel the band’s attending the 2021 MAMA and to readjust their album’s release schedules to prevent any possibilities of further infection,” said the agency.
“We are again sorry to all the staff and fans who have been waiting for the girls’ debut,” added the agency.
Kep1er is a conjunction of ‘Kep’ which means that the girls have grasped their dreams and the number ‘1’ which means that the nine girls will gather as one to become a top idol. The band includes 9 members from Korea, China and Japan.
