SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) -- SEVENTEEN’s fifth studio album "HAPPY BURSTDAY" has debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the main U.S. album chart.
According to a preview article of the chart released on Sunday (local time), "HAPPY BURSTDAY" landed at No. 2, just behind Morgan Wallen’s "I’m the Problem," which has held the top spot for three consecutive weeks. This marks SEVENTEEN’s seventh entry into the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
The Billboard 200 calculates album units by combining traditional album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA).
"HAPPY BURSTDAY" recorded 48,500 album units during the chart’s tracking period. Of these, 46,000 came from traditional album sales, which placed the album at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. The SEA accounted for 2,500 units, while TEA was negligible.
Billboard noted that the album sales were boosted by 14 different CD versions that included randomly assorted collectible paper memorabilia.
The day before, SEVENTEEN won first place on SBS TV’s music show "Inkigayo" with the title track "THUNDER." They shared, “We sincerely thank our fans, ‘CARATs,’ for their tireless support. Thanks to you, we are spending our 10th debut anniversary in a meaningful way,” adding, “We also want to thank our members for all their hard work.”
