SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Yonhap) -- “I wish people would see me and think, ‘Park Ji-hoon doesn’t stop growing,’ ‘He is going up step by step.’”
From releasing one regular and four mini albums since debut to challenging in acting, Park who has restlessly been engaging in diverse fields has returned in another “upgraded” version.
“My goal is to show a little more changed, grown and different side of me,” said Park on an online showcase for his new mini-album, “HOT & COLD” on the 28th.
This is his return in 2 months after the mini album “My Collection” in August.
“It would be a lie if I say I haven’t been that busy. I barely had a chance to rest. I could pluck up and work thanks to my fans always cheering and supporting me,” smiled the artist.
“HOT & COLD”, with this somewhat incompatible title, Park tried to musically elaborate the quarrels between lovers and the maturing relationship through those clashes.
“I am confident about the album. I am convinced that I can show my fans various images of me even if the come-back is quite rapid, and I am confident about my performance,” said Park.
The title song, “Serious” is a hip hop based dance song with a repetitive chorus. The singer seeks a change in his music style by trying shouting-rap and shows excellent acting in the music video.
“The music video for ‘Serious’ is about the 4 kind of emotions a man would feel after letting go of his lover. I tried to portray the denial of their breakup, anger towards himself, missing the woman and begging for forgiveness in details.
Thanks to his acting experiences, Park said he didn’t face much difficulty in expressing the emotions.
“When I first saw the music video’s draft, it didn’t come to me. But as I was shooting the video, I could easily cry feeling the series of emotions. I was confident about acting out a cry.”
A cubic beneath one eye to look like he’s shed a tear is another point.
Park especially said that although working as a singer, an actor and in many other fields could be tiring, all of those things felt new and fun to him.
“Music is my life and a source that motivates me. It is fun to be a singer and an actor as I can learn something and get something from whichever I engage in,” said Park.
Park who wants to try a bad guy’s role as an actor smiled and said, “I may be able to return with good news about that.”
