SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- Actress Kim Tae-ri will introduce the charm of Korea's traditional clothing, hanbok, to the world. On the 24th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, announced that Kim Tae-ri will participate in the "Hallyu-linked Hanbok Content Planning and Development" project.

Kim will collaborate with four hanbok companies to promote the beauty of hanbok.

Now in its fifth year, the hanbok development project aims to introduce the allure of hanbok to the international community and support the overseas expansion of talented hanbok brands through collaborations with Hallyu artists. Last year, actress Suzy participated, and in 2022, former figure skater Kim Yu-na took part.

The project will select hanbok companies through a public contest running from today until July 8. It targets small and medium-sized enterprises in the hanbok field, evaluating their expertise, uniqueness, feasibility, and expected impact.

Four companies will be chosen to develop hanbok designs inspired by Kim Tae-ri, each presenting eight hanbok designs. The developed hanbok designs will be showcased through videos on New York's Times Square billboards and featured in famous fashion magazines.
