Trump-Iran negotiation
Trump ups pressure on Iran to 'get serious' about peace deal 'before it is too late'

WASHINGTON, March 26 (Yonhap) -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday warned Iran to "get serious" about a deal to end the war with the United States and Israel "before it is too late," as his administration seeks an off-ramp from the conflict amid growing concerns about its economic fallout.
Trump made the remarks in a social media post as the Islamic Republic remains defiant amid reports that it has dismissed as "excessive" a 15-point U.S. peace proposal that involves U.S. demands regarding Tehran's nuclear and missile programs, and other issues.
"The Iranian negotiators are very different and 'strange.' They are 'begging' us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only 'looking at our proposal.' WRONG!!!" he wrote on Truth Social.
"They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won't be pretty!"
Trump has put off threatened U.S. strikes on Iran's energy infrastructure until Friday to allow for negotiations with Iran, stressing that Washington and Tehran are in negotiations to make a deal to end the war that kicked off in late February.
His administration apparently seeks to avoid a prolonged war in the Middle East as the conflict has effectively choked off the Strait of Hormuz, which is responsible for about a fifth of the world's oily supply, leading to an increase in oil prices and fanning fears of higher inflation.
