Wildfire breaks out on Mt. Bukhan in Seoul

SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Yonhap) -- A wildfire broke out on Mount Bukhan in Seoul late Saturday, officials said.

The fire broke out at around 7:25 p.m. in the vicinity of temples on the mountain in the Jongno Ward of central Seoul, according to firefighting authorities.

An official at the forest service said the risk of the fire spreading to nearby areas appears low, adding that firefighters are working to extinguish the remaining embers.

Authorities plan to investigate to determine the exact cause of the fire.
