Holiday bonfire for good luck
Members of a traditional art troupe join hands to perform the ancient Korean dance "ganggangsullae," while a "daljip," or a heap of straw or twigs, is set on fire at Haeundae Beach in the southeastern port city of Busan on Feb. 12, 2025, the day of "Jeongwol Daeboreum," a traditional Korean holiday that celebrates the first full moon of the year according to the lunar calendar. The burning of a daljip, meaning "moon house," is part of the holiday held to ward off misfortune and bring good luck in the coming new year. (Yonhap)
