SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- The minor progressive Justice Party on Saturday elected former lawmaker Yang Kyung-kyu as its new leader.
Yang earned 94.7 percent of the vote after registering as the sole candidate for the election held from Monday through Saturday, according to the party.
He is a former labor activist who previously served as the vice chair of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, a major umbrella union in South Korea.
Upon his election, Yang said he will strive to make a bigger and more popular progressive party. His term is two years.
