Parliamentary committee issues order to bring Yoon as witness for martial law hearing

SEOUL, Feb. 4 (Yonhap) -- An opposition-led parliamentary committee issued orders Tuesday to bring impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol and three others involved in his martial law declaration to appear at the National Assembly as witnesses.

The special committee investigating Yoon's insurrection charges issued the orders after Yoon, former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun and two others did not appear though they have been adopted as witnesses for its second hearing. The orders required their appearance by 2 p.m.

The others include Maj. Gen. Moon Sang-ho, head of the Defense Intelligence Command, and Yoon's personal secretary, Kang Ui-goo.

Yoon has been indicted on allegations of insurrection and abuse of power over his short-lived Dec. 3 martial law declaration. He is currently detained at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, south of Seoul.
