Woman gets 6-mth prison term for stalking Rain-Kim Tae-hee star couple

SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) -- A Seoul court sentenced a 49-year-old woman to a six-month prison term on Wednesday on charges of repeatedly stalking singer Rain and his actress wife, Kim Tae-hee.

The woman, whose identity was withheld, was charged with ringing the doorbell of the couple's home in Seoul's Yongsan district on more than a dozen occasions since 2021.

She received three misdemeanor warnings from the police for her acts and was eventually indicted in late 2022 on stalking charges after ringing the couple's doorbell again.

The Seoul Western District Court sentenced the woman to six months in prison and ordered her to undergo 40 hours of treatment programs for stalking perpetrators, citing concerns about the possibility of her reoffending.
