National Assembly to hold revote on four vetoed bills
SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Yonhap) -- The National Assembly was set to hold a revote Friday on four contentious bills vetoed by President Yoon Suk Yeol last week, but chances of their passage are low.
The four bills are the pro-labor "yellow envelope bill" aimed at limiting companies from making claims for damages against legitimate labor union disputes, and three broadcasting law revisions intended to reduce the government's clout over public broadcasters.
A vetoed bill requires two-thirds support from lawmakers in attendance to pass through the 298-member National Assembly. But the four bills are unlikely to pass as the ruling People Power Party (PPP), which holds 111 seats, are opposed to them.
Also on Friday, the National Assembly plans to vote on whether to confirm Supreme Court Chief Justice nominee Cho Hee-dae.
