Assembly speaker says only 151 votes needed to impeach acting President Han

SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Yonhap) -- A motion to impeach acting President Han Duck-soo can pass with a simple majority of 151 votes, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik said Friday.

Woo announced the decision immediately before a vote on Han's impeachment, rejecting the ruling People Power Party's argument that the case should be treated as a presidential impeachment requiring a two-thirds majority of 200 votes.
