'Fast & Furious 9' records sales of 19,000 reservation tickets one day before its release in Korea

SEOUL, May 18 (Yonhap) -- "Fast & Furious 9" (hereinafter referred to as "F9") recorded an overwhelming reservation rate on the 18th (KST), a day before its release, signaling a boost for theaters.

 

The film, which had been ranked No. 1 in the reservation rankings since the beginning of this month, two weeks before its release, recorded a reservation rate of 77.4% and 164,000 viewers compiled by the Korean Film Council as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

 

At 5 p.m. on May 18th, the number of reserved viewers rose to 189,000.

 

It is the highest reservation rate among the films released after the spread of the corona virus.

 

F9, the ninth movie of the "Fast & Furious" franchise, will be released in Korea for the first time in the world on the 19th, about a month ahead of the U.S.
