BTS' V throws first pitch at Dodgers game, meets Shohei Ohtani

SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- V of South Korean boy band BTS has thrown the ceremonial first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers' home game.

In a Dodgers jersey with the number 7 on the back, V took the mound at Dodger Stadium ahead of the game against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday (U.S. time), the Associated Press reported.

After a slight bow toward Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, V delivered the pitch with his left hand.

Before the game, he was seen chatting and sharing a brief hug with Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani in the dugout.

Last week, the Dodgers announced the event on X, sharing a photo of the K-pop star.

The post read, "ARMY, you ready? V will be at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 25 to throw out the ceremonial first pitch!" ARMY is the name of the devoted BTS fandom.

It marked V's first ceremonial pitch at an MLB game, according to his agency, BigHit Music.

On Wednesday, South Korean soccer star Son Heung-min is scheduled to throw the first pitch at the same stadium.

Son joined Major League Soccer's Los Angeles FC earlier this month as a forward after spending a decade with Tottenham in England's Premier League.
