Controversy over candidate nominations for April elections

Park Yong-jin, a lawmaker of the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) and considered a nonmainstream member, meets the press at the National Assembly in Seoul on Feb. 22, 2024, as the party is engulfed in factional tensions over candidate nominations for April's general elections amid accusations the party is trying to sideline those not aligned with its leader, Lee Jae-myung.
