Hyundai Motor Group donates 2 bln won in rain disaster relief in S. Korea

SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Group said Monday it has donated 2 billion won (US$1.4 million) to support recovery efforts in areas hit by recent torrential rains in South Korea.

The donation was delivered to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid the swift restoration of flood-damaged regions and provide emergency assistance to affected residents.

In addition to the donation, Hyundai has deployed six mobile laundry and sanitation trucks to help clean contaminated clothes and carry out disinfection at disaster sites.

The automaker also launched special support services for customers whose vehicles were damaged by the downpours. Owners of flood-damaged Hyundai or Kia cars without comprehensive insurance will receive special discounts on repair costs.

"We extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by the sudden and devastating rains. We hope our donation, emergency vehicle deployment and repair support can help victims return to their daily lives as soon as possible," a group official said.
