SEOUL, June 8 (Yonhap) -- Director Ryoo
Seung-wan's new film "Mogadishu," starring Kim Yoon-seok and Jo
In-sung, has been confirmed to be released this summer. It is the first Korean blockbuster
to premiere this summer after the corona virus outbreak.
Film distributor Lotte Entertainment confirmed the release of director Ryoo's
11th feature film "Mogadishu" and released the first poster for the
movie on Tuesday.
"Mogadishu" depicts a true story of workers from the South and North
Korean embassies who were isolated during the 1991 Somali Civil War and struggle
for survival.
In addition to top actors Kim Yoon-seok and Jo In-sung, Heo Joon-ho, actress Kim
So-jin, Jung Man-sik, and Koo Kyo-hwan will also appear.
"Mogadishu," which was filmed in Morocco with a production cost of 20
billion won, was scheduled to be released last summer, but has been delayed due
to the corona virus.
Additionally, two Disney films including
"Black Widow" starring Scarlett Johansson and Emily Blunt's
"Jungle Cruise," are expected to be released in July.
