Yonhap publishes 2025 English-language almanac

SEOUL, July 18 (Yonhap) -- Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's key newswire, on Friday published its English-language yearbook summarizing the country's major events, developments and issues that occurred in 2024.

The Korea Annual 2025, the only English-language yearbook published in South Korea, chronicles all of last year's major news stories across politics, the economy, society, culture and sports.

Published annually, the almanac aims to provide accurate and reliable information on Korea to foreign government organs, international organizations, diplomatic missions and people around the world interested in the country.

Highlights of this year's edition include the brief imposition of martial law late last year and novelist Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature, which elevated the country's cultural profile.

The yearbook also features a special photo spread documenting the presidential election and the inauguration of Lee Jae Myung, the country's 14th president.

Its North Korean section offers detailed reporting on major developments in various sectors, spanning from politics and the economy to society, alongside the coverage of souring relations between Seoul and Pyongyang.

The 288-page almanac is published in handbook form, making it easy to carry. For further inquiries, call Yonhap News Agency at 02-398-3615.
