Dutch Korean War vet laid to rest in S. Korea

Dutch soldiers take part in a ceremony to bury the remains of late Dutch Korean War veteran Jaap Constandse at the U.N. Memorial Cemetery in the southeastern port city of Busan on May 14, 2026. Constandse is the 35th U.N. veteran to be posthumously interred in the cemetery. The Netherlands is among the 22 countries that sent troops or other forms of support to back South Korea during and right after the 1950-53 conflict, which ended in a ceasefire, not a peace treaty.
