WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed their shared goal of denuclearizing North Korea during their recent summit talks in Beijing, the White House said in a fact sheet released Sunday.

The two leaders met in the Chinese capital on Thursday and Friday, during which they discussed a range of key issues, including security on the Korean Peninsula, the status of Taiwan, the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran and bilateral trade.

Chinese President Xi likely to visit N. Korea as early as next week: sources

SEOUL -- Chinese President Xi Jinping will likely visit North Korea as early as next week, sources said Wednesday.

"We have obtained intelligence indicating that President Xi Jinping will visit North Korea soon," a high-ranking government official told Yonhap News Agency.

Seoul official says no special U.S.-N. Korea contact appears to be under way

WASHINGTON -- A senior South Korean official said Wednesday there appears to be no special contact between the United States and North Korea, amid lingering speculation that U.S. President Donald Trump could attempt to rekindle his personal diplomacy with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un if an opportunity arises.

After his trip to Beijing last week, Trump told reporters that he has communicated with Kim, claiming he has a "very good" relationship with the reclusive leader. He did not elaborate on what kind of communications he had with Kim.
