S. Korea's spy agency notes possible signs of U.S.- N. Korea dialogue

SEOUL -- South Korea's spy agency said Tuesday a summit between the United States and North Korea may be held at any time, citing possible signs of dialogue between Pyongyang and Washington.

The National Intelligence Service (NIS) made the assessment during a closed-door briefing to the National Assembly's intelligence committee, according to Rep. Youn Kun-young of the ruling Democratic Party and Rep. Yoo Yeong-ha of the main opposition People Power Party.

Lee reaffirms commitment to replacing Korean armistice with peace regime

SEOUL -- President Lee Jae Myung reaffirmed his commitment Wednesday to establishing a permanent peace regime on the Korean Peninsula, also pledging efforts to help resume dialogue between the North and the United States to establish peace.

The president reiterated the commitment during a gathering of the American unit of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council, a presidential advisory body on unification, in Incheon, west of Seoul.

FM Cho vows continued diplomatic efforts to revive N.K.-U.S. dialogue

SEOUL -- Foreign Minister Cho Hyun said Thursday that South Korea will continue efforts to revive dialogue between North Korea and the United States, noting U.S. President Donald Trump's willingness to reengage with Pyongyang.

Cho made the remarks in his keynote speech at the Seoul Diplomacy Forum 2026, hosted by the Korea National Diplomatic Academy under the theme of "Changing International Order and Global Governance."
