The shipped volume, in terms of ammunition, could amount to over 15 million 152-mm artillery shells, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) under the defense ministry said in a report submitted to Rep. Kang Dae-sik of the main opposition People Power Party.

Unification ministry to call N. Korean defectors 'N. Korean-born citizens'
SEOUL -- The unification ministry will use a new term, "North Korean-born citizens," to refer to North Korean defectors to better reflect their status as South Korean nationals with full legal entitlements, officials said Thursday.
Unification Minister Chung Dong-young has avoided calling former North Koreans who fled their home country to settle in South Korea or elsewhere "defectors" or "refugees," instead referring to them as "bukhyangmin," or people whose hometown is North Korea.

Unification ministry to pursue 'peace declaration' for turning armistice into peace regime
SEOUL -- The unification ministry said Friday it will pursue a "peace declaration" designed to express the political will to end the 1950-53 Korean War in a bid to seek the transition of the current armistice into a peace regime.
The ministry unveiled the plan in a report to the National Assembly as President Lee Jae Myung vowed all-out efforts to turn the armistice into a peace regime to ease inter-Korean tensions during his speech marking the 107th anniversary of the March 1 Independence Movement.
