Century-old Hwasun Mine closed

Miners and their wives shed tears during a ceremony to permanently shut down Hwasun Mine in Hwasun, 283 kilometers south of Seoul, on June 30, 2023. The mine passed into history after 118 years of operation since its opening in 1905. (Yonhap)
