AMCHAM, U.S. Embassy partner on yearlong campaign to deepen S. Korea-U.S. partnership
SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Yonhap) -- The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) and the U.S. Embassy in Seoul have agreed to collaborate on various programs on the South Korea-U.S. partnership through an initiative marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, the chamber said Thursday.
According to AMCHAM, the chamber and the embassy signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) Wednesday on the yearlong "Freedom 250" initiative, under which the two sides will co-host commemorative programs and executive-level dialogues throughout the year.
The chamber said programs will highlight the strength and breadth of the South Korea-U.S. alliance, which has evolved from a security-focused partnership into a comprehensive relationship spanning trade, technology, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
"We will highlight how our shared values of freedom and innovation continue to sustain the U.S.-Korea alliance -- one of the most important in the world," AMCHAM Chairman James Kim said.
