Daces return to river for reproduction

A dace moves against the current in the Yeongok Stream in Gangneung, 163 kilometers east of Seoul, on April 29, 2024. The river inhabitants, known as "hwangeo" in Korean, spend the majority of their lives in the ocean after hatching in a river, returning to their place of birth to spawn in March and April. (Yonhap)
