Ahead of Int'l Memorial Day for Comfort Women

Flowers are laid upon the busts of the late victims of sexual slavery by the Japanese military during World War II at the House of Sharing, a facility dedicated to such women, euphemistically called "comfort women," in Gwangju, 32 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on Aug. 13, 2024, one day ahead of the International Memorial Day for Comfort Women.
