Another comfort woman victim dies
An altar is set up for the late Lee Ok-seon, a victim of Japanese sexual enslavement during World War II, at a funeral home in Gwangju, near Seoul, on Dec. 27, 2022, after Lee died at age 94 around 9:44 p.m. the previous day. Lee, who was 14 when she was forcibly taken by the Japanese, had been staying at the House of Sharing, a shelter for victims of Japan's wartime sexual enslavement. Her death reduced to 10 the number of registered surviving Korean victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery. (Yonhap)
