SEOUL, June 25 (Yonhap) -- K-pop act
Seventeen's latest eight mini-album "Your Choice," surpassed 1.36
million album sales in a week, according to its agency on Friday.
The 13-member boy group celebrated its
sixth debut anniversary last week by releasing "Your Choice" on June
18, and has sold 1,364,127 copies within a week.
The current highest sales recorded by Seventeen within the first week of
release is 270,000 copies more than its previous EP "Heng: garae,"
which sold 1.09 million copies. Among all the albums released in Korea this
year, Seventeen's eighth EP owns the highest weekly sales volume.
The EP sold 880,000 copies on the day of its release and 1.14 million copies
were sold four days after, allowing Seventeen to add another million-selling
album to its collection.
The album received positive responses from overseas fans as it topped Japan's Oricon
daily album chart as 1st place and No. 2 on the weekly album chart. "Your
Choice" also ranked No.1 on iTunes top album chart in 18 regions.
During a news conference held upon the release of "Your Choice," SEVENTEEN
said it hopes to break into the U.S. Billboard main singles or album chart. The
K-pop act also recently started targeting the U.S. music market by appearing on
famous talk shows such as ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show.
