Lee posts AI-generated video of himself, Brazil's Lula as young factory workers

SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung has shared an artificial intelligence-generated video of himself and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as young factory workers, highlighting their shared life experiences.

Lee uploaded the 11-second video clip to social media platform X on Monday, after the two leaders held a summit meeting in Seoul and agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.

The video shows the two leaders as young laborers embracing one another before transitioning into footage of the two presidents sharing a hug at Cheong Wa Dae before their summit.

"Two young factory workers became presidents and met together," Lee wrote. "We share the experience of being wounded, yet we were not scarred."

"We gained life's wisdom through labor, endured hardship and it was the people who saved us," Lee added. "And so, we are brothers."

In response, Lula also shared Lee's post on his own X account on Tuesday.

Lula lost a finger in an industrial accident during his factory days, while Lee suffered a permanent arm injury while working as a young laborer -- experiences both leaders often cite as shaping their political outlook and commitment to social justice.
