People clad in traditional clothing perform a ritualistic dance called "parilmu" during the autumn Seokjeon ceremony at Daeseongjeon Shrine inside Sungkyunkwan, an educational institute of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), in Seoul on Sept. 28, 2026. The ceremonial rite is performed twice annually to pay homage to the Chinese sage Confucius and other renowned Confucian figures at Confucian sites across South Korea on Confucius' birthday in fall and the anniversary of his death in spring.
