Ahead of anniv. of 1960 pro-democracy revolution
This photo, taken April 18, 2025, shows a traditional memorial service being held at a facility where portraits of democracy fighters killed during the April 19, 1960, pro-democracy revolution are enshrined, inside the April 19th National Cemetery in Seoul, to pay tribute to them one day before the 65th anniversary of the revolution. The day commemorates the students' movement against the autocratic rule of then President Rhee Syng-man after the discovery of massive rigging of the presidential election. The uprising forced Rhee to eventually resign. (Pool photo) (Yonhap)
