SEOUL, June 10 (Yonhap) -- Jung Il-hoon
(27), a former member of the idol boy group BTOB, who was put on trial for using
marijuana several times, was sentenced to prison in the first trial and
arrested in court.
The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Jung, who was indicted on charges of
violating the Narcotic Control Act, to two years in prison and ordered a fine
of 133 million won. Jung, who was on trial without detention, was arrested in
court on the same day after being sentenced to prison.
Jung was put on trial in April 2021 on charges of investing 133 million for marijuana
and inhaling it 161 times between 2016 and 2019. The prosecution demanded a
four-year prison sentence and a fine of 133 million won for Jung, who pleaded
for leniency after admitting the charges.
Meanwhile, according to BTOB's agency Cube Entertainment, Jung withdrew from
the group last December when the drug allegations were exposed to the public.
