Court grants injunction to ban NewJeans' (NJZ) independent activities

SEOUL, March 21 (Yonhap) -- A Seoul court on Friday granted an injunction sought by ADOR, the K-pop agency behind popular girl group NewJeans, to ban its members' independent activities.

The decision by the Seoul Central District Court came two months after the agency filed the request to prevent the group's five members from independently signing advertising contracts as part of an ongoing legal dispute between the sides.

NewJeans, which rebranded as NJZ last month, began independent activities after accusing ADOR in November of violating the terms of their exclusive contract.
