Memorial honoring 22 nations in Korean War unveiled

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon (5th from L, 1st row), Korean War veterans and ambassadors take part in the opening ceremony of the Garden of Gratitude, a memorial honoring the 22 countries that sent troops or other forms of support to South Korea during the 1950-53 Korea War, at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on May 12, 2026. The memorial has 23 sculptures symbolizing South Korea and the 22 nations that supported the country under the U.N. flag following North Korea's invasion of the South on June 25, 1950. (Yonhap)
