BOK chief to attend BIS, ECB meetings

SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- Bank of Korea (BOK) Gov. Shin Hyun-song will travel to Switzerland this week to attend the general meeting of the Bank for International Settlement (BIS), his office said Wednesday.

Shin will leave for Basel on Thursday to attend the BIS annual general assembly and other related meetings over the weekend, according to the BOK.

He will also attend the European Central Bank (ECB) Forum on Central Banking, also known as the Sintra Forum, slated for next Wednesday in Sintra, Portugal.

During a session at the Sintra Forum, Shin will present a paper titled "A Unified Ledger in Practice: Lessons from Project Hangang" and discuss issues related to money and settlement with other participants, the BOK said.
