Autopsy conducted on late singer Wheesung; funeral begins Fri.
SEOUL, March 12 (Yonhap) -- An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday by the National Forensic Service to determine the cause of singer-songwriter Wheesung's sudden death.
The artist was found dead at his home in Seoul on Monday, with no signs of foul play.
Authorities are looking into whether he left a note, while at least one syringe was reportedly found near him when he was discovered at his home.
In 2021, he was given a two-year suspended sentence for abusing propofol.
His agency, Tajoy Entertainment, said a funeral hall will be set up at Samsung Medical Center in southern Seoul for three days beginning Friday. This marks a change from the agency's earlier statement that the funeral would be held privately.
"Due to concerns over his mother's health, the service was initially planned to be private. However, we have decided to allow time for those who loved him to mourn together," it said.
Wheesung's brother remembered his brother in a statement, saying, "He endured a deep loneliness that no one could possibly console. He fiercely lived his life to ease those emotions through music."
He asked fans to visit the mortuary, saying, "Please do not hesitate to keep my brother company on his final journey so that he does not feel lonely."
