SEOUL, June 23 (Yonhap) -- Seo Ji-soo, a member of the girl group Lovelyz, has been tested positive for COVID-19, according to the singer's agency Woollim Entertainment on Wednesday.

Seo Ji-soo conducted a preliminary inspection after receiving a notification that an official, who Seo had come in contact to, had contracted the virus on Monday afternoon. Seo was later informed to have been tested positive as well on Tuesday morning.

"(Seo Ji-soo) has put all activities on hold and is taking necessary measures in accordance with the health authorities' guidelines," Woollim said.

Since the remaining Lovelyz members were classified as close contacts with Seo, they were tested as well on Tuesday afternoon. The rest of the members were all informed to have been tested negative.

However, all of the members will be self-quarantined for two weeks until July 4 in accordance with the health authorities' guidelines.

As a result, Lovelyz is likely to experience a setback in its future activities. Although the group have not been active as a group, individual members who have started different activities in entertainment shows, radio programs, and musicals will have to resume their work next month.

Member Lee Mi-joo, who was scheduled to appear as a special DJ on SBS Power FM's "Cultwo Show," will be postponing her activities as she began quarantine.

"We will consider the safety of artists and employees as our top priority, and will continue to take measures in accordance with the requests and guidelines of the health authorities as soon as the inspection results are confirmed," said the girl group's agency.
