SEOUL, July 24 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung will dispatch a presidential delegation to the inauguration of Peru's President-elect Keiko Fujimori, the South Korean president's office said Friday.
Fujimori is set to take office at a ceremony in Lima on Tuesday.
Led by Rep. Min Hong-chul of the ruling Democratic Party (DP), who heads the South Korea-Peru parliamentary friendship association, the special delegation will also include Rep. Kang Min-kuk of the main opposition People Power Party and another ruling party lawmaker Lee Ki-heon, presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said.
The delegation will deliver Lee's personal letter to Fujimori, outlining his vision for developing strategic relations between South Korea and the new Peruvian government, and explain the Lee government's foreign policy.
The delegation will also attend a reception to be hosted by Fujimori and Peru's foreign minister, where the South Korean lawmakers plan to deliver Seoul's intention to strengthen defense and security cooperation with the country.
