SEOUL, June 12 (Yonhap) -- K-pop act LOONA is releasing a new mini-album "&" as a whole group on June 28th, according to the 12-piece act's agency, Blockberry Creative.
Member Haseul, who temporarily stopped working last January due to health
reasons, also participated in the album.
According to the track list, seven songs were included such as, the title track
"PTT (Paint The Town)," "WOW," "Be Honest,"
"Dance On My Own," "A Different Night" "U R," and
others.
"PTT," a dance hip-hop genre, is a song that clearly depicts the new outlook
Loona has on the world. The girl group is expected to convey the message of showing
its own colors rather than being trapped in taboo or worrying about other
people's views.
"'PTT' combines all the characteristics of songs from Bollywood movies,"
Blockberry Creative said. "The audience will be able to feel the explosive
energy of LOONA."
LOONA debuted in 2018 and attracted attention last year when the group entered
the U.S. Billboard's main album chart, "Billboard 200," which is an
impressive achievement for an idol group belonging to a small agency in Seoul.
Since then, LOONA entered Mediabase's Top 40 chart with its song
"Star" for nine straight weeks, which is the first for an all-female K-pop
girl group.
The U.S. business magazine, Forbes recently expressed expectations of LOONA by
citing the girl group's achievements, saying, "LOONA's leap forward has
just begun."
