Protest against increase of medical student admissions

Professors have their hair shaved off at the medical school of Kangwon National University in Chuncheon, 85 kilometers northeast of Seoul, on March 5, 2024, protesting the faculty's request to expand its medical student quota from 49 to 140 to the education ministry. The protest came amid prolonged collective action nationwide by thousands of trainee doctors in protest against the government's plan to increase the number of medical students.
