S. Korean flag unfurled on Dokdo

This aerial photo, released by a team of Sungshin Women's University professor Seo Kyoung-duk on June 29, 2026, shows Seo and 70 people unfurling a South Korean flag, 30 meters wide and 20 meters high, at the pier of the East Islet on South Korea's easternmost islets of Dokdo the previous day. The event was designed to call attention to South Korea's sovereignty to Dodo consisting of two small islets -- the West Islet and the East Islet -- 87.4 kilometers southeast of Ulleung Island, South Korea's North Gyeongsang Province, in the East Sea.
