Seoul stocks open sharply higher
A financial data screen in the dealing room of Hana Bank in Seoul on June 15, 2026, shows the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index having gained 4.24 percent from the previous session to an intraday high of 8,486.26 in early trading. South Korean stocks opened sharply higher as the United States and Iran reached an agreement to end their monthslong war in the Middle East, which includes the reopening of the Hormuz Strait.
