Jung Chung-rae (R), leader of the ruling Democratic Party, and Jang Dong-hyeok, chief of the main opposition People Power Party, attend a ceremony at the Peace Park in the city of Jeju on South Korea's largest island of the same name on April 3, 2026, to mark the 78th anniversary of paying tribute to victims of a 1948-1954 massacre caused by an ideological rift between residents of Jeju Island and the mainland government.
