Wooden tablets from ancient kingdom

This photo, released on Nov. 28, 2023, by the Giho Cultural Heritage Research Center, shows a wooden tablet containing Chinese characters that was extracted from Daemo Mountain Castle of the Taebong Kingdom (901-918) in Yangju near Seoul. Scholars believe the tablet, called "mokgan" in Korean, carries the largest number of inscribed characters among such tablets found thus far on the Korean Peninsula. On the left and right are the tablet taken with a digital camera and an infrared camera, respectively. (PHOTO NOT FOR SALE) (Yonhap)
