Another Seventeen forest created at Seoul park

SEOUL, April 9 (Yonhap) -- The country's second forest named after popular K-pop boy group Seventeen was created at a park in Seoul, Melon, a local music streaming platform, said Tuesday.

The forest located in Nanji Han River Park in western Seoul was created with money donated by subscribers as part of its eco-friendly project.

Melon has previously created the first forest named after the same group, two BTS forests and one named after Lim Young-woong under the project.

According to the service, when subscribers select their favorite singer's name on the project homepage, up to 2 percent of their monthly payment is saved as a donation.

Once the combined donation reaches 20 million won (US$14,771), it is donated to a local charity, which will then use the funds to create a forest named after the chosen singer in Seoul.

The Seventeen Forest No. 2 consists of three flowering cherry trees, 300 grandifloras and 220 privets.
