SEOUL, June 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean
indie rock musician The Black Skirts will officially debut in Japan.
The Japanese version of "EVERYTHING," which is the representative
song of The Black Skirts, was released in Japan on Wednesday, according to the
singer's partner BESPOK and Japanese label Bside. "EVERYTHING" is a
song included in The Black Skirts's third album "TEAM BABY" released
in 2017.
The Black Skirts showed to have strong motivation to make his debut in Japan as
he personally requested a translation of his song in order to record the
Japanese version.
"I often make English language songs, but it's my first time to work and
sing in Japanese," The Black Skirts said. "I worked hard to make sure
that there was no incompatibility in expressing certain emotions, so I hope everyone
can listen while keeping in mind about the meaning and atmosphere of the song."
A music video which was produced by "PERIMETRON", a popular video
production team in Japan, was also released with the song.
Perimetron is a creative team led by Japanese band King Gnu's Daiki Tsuneta. He
worked with his own group King Nu and millennium parade, as well as music
videos for famous artists such as Mr. Children, and the video for the
"Ghost in the Shell" animation soundtrack.
The Black Skirts attracted attention as he appeared in the indie music scene
with his debut album in 2008. So far, The Black Skirts has released a total of
four full-length albums and one EP.
