SEOUL, Aug. 4 (Yonhap) -- A remake of the Hollywood hit "The Intern" (2015), starring Korean actors Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee, will open in local theaters in September, the film's distributor said Tuesday.

In the upcoming film, Han portrays Sun-woo, a passionate fashion entrepreneur, while Choi plays Ki-ho, an intern with a 37-year career, according to Warner Brothers Korea.

The original Hollywood film, a global megahit starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro, attracted 3.6 million moviegoers in South Korea.

Kim Do-young, known for directing "Once We Were Us" (2025), a remake of the Chinese romance-drama "Us and Them" (2018), takes the helm.

The film will release Sept. 16.
