SEOUL, May 24 (Yonhap) -- Pearl Abyss, a South Korean video game developer and publisher, announced on Monday that it has acquired Factorial Games, a mobile game developer known for its game "Lost Kingdom."

 

Pearl Abyss purchased 100% of Factorial's shares, totaling up the acquisition amount to 20 billion won.

 

Factorial Games was founded in 2014 and became a big hit in 2016 with its mobile role-playing Game (RPG).

 

Factorial Games is currently co-developing a new game called "Project J" with a famous Japanese game company, Square Enix, while also waiting to launch "Super String," a collectible card mobile RPG.

 

"We highly appreciate the game development capabilities of Factorial Games and will strengthen our portfolio in terms of genre and intellectual property (IP) diversity," said Kim Kyung-yeop, the general manager of investment strategy at Pearl Abyss.
