Seoul shares start sharply higher
A financial data screen in the dealing room of Hana Bank in Seoul on June 25, 2026, shows the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index having risen 5.56 percent from the previous session to an intraday high of 8,941.70 in early trading. South Korean stocks opened sharply higher, driven by gains in semiconductor shares stemming from a stronger-than-expected earnings report by U.S. memory chipmaker Micron Technology. (Yonhap)
