Nobel-winning author Kenzaburo Oe dies

Japanese novelist Kenzaburo Oe speaks during a press conference in Seoul on March 13, 2015, to mark the Korean-version publication of his novel "Death by Water." Oe, the winner of the 1994 Nobel Prize in Literature and a peace activist, died at the age of 88 on March 3, 2023. He had urged Japan to apologize for its 1910-1945 colonization of the Korean Peninsula and its colonial atrocities against the Korean people. (Yonhap)
